The NPIF can provide matching funds to country projects that meet their criteria for advancing ABS initiatives consistent with the Protocol. He is familiar with the ICBG program and just recently made the first mid-level ($1 mil) NPIF award to the Panama ICBG to promote a joint initiative based on, but expanding the activities of, the ICBG . Josh and I suggested that your Fiji ICBG might similarly be a suitable basis on which to build a NPIF project. I am attaching a draft checklist Jaime forwarded to us that gives some idea of the criteria for projects. If you are interested, please contact Jaime, ccE28099d here, to discuss in more detail.
